A book cover for the fantasy novel "The Book of Deacon", by the self-published author Joseph Lallo.
This is the first part of a trilogy, and the (first) ebook is available on Amazon for free: [link]
The cover features the main character of the story, Myranda; a young wizard.

I was glad to hear that the new cover pushed the book's downloads in #1 rank in the "top free fantasy books" section, and a month later it's still in the top 20 on Amazon Kindle.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my cover actually fulfill its purpose and that the author's investment in my artwork was well worth it, having an immediate impact on sales and popularity...

I am so glad I found this! I have very recently become a fan of this series and just started the third book. I just happened to look on dA for possible fan art and I find the cover art! squee!

It certainly did the job. I recently got my own Kindle Fire and I was hesitant toward the free books, but when I saw the cover, I immediately downloaded. I hate to say it, but I tend to judge books by their covers >_>

I loved the art work, and being a female that loves anything and everything magic, I instantly thought, sweeeet, female mage that is probably going to kick butt! -download-

I'm glad I did, totally adored the book and immediately purchased the next one right when I finished. I wish I could find some artwork of Lian/Leo.

I loved the cover of the book, and in truth i read the book before i actually looked to see who the cover was by. Great work, i love the way she is drawn. Right now i am on the second book, and already have the third downloaded to read that later. Great books, great art. :)

Even Jade and Bypass Gemini.
but i still lov the artwork from the Book of Deacon Series the best.
