I've been away from DeviantArt
for almost two years, and I've missed the art community a lot; it almost feels like missing home while being away... After so much time of inactivity, I thought that my page would be a quiet place, but I was shocked to see thousands of comments in my gallery, people wishing me "happy birthday" last year on my wall, etc... Wow! I never expected that, and I really appreciate everyone's time to leave their comment!! I also found out that one of my older works, Shakespeare
, has become a DD!
Life and work has been overwhelming during that period (in a good way, though), so I've been constantly struggling to keep up with all my tasks and also find some spare time. It's been ages since I made any personal artwork, but I'll try to make up for that next year (one can only hope!). Hey, being a family guy is not an easy thing!
Besides lots of work, the other reason for being away is George Jason, my 15-month-old son, who's the best thing happened in my life, and I spend a lot of time with him! We were also having built a new house in my hometown, Thessaloniki, and we moved there from Athens a year ago. So, many things were going on at the same time...
It was 11 years ago when I joined DeviantArt
; I can't believe how time flies! I was an aspiring artist studying graphic design at that time, and uncertain for the future. I'm so glad that things have settled, and everything is on track now (career and personal life), so that's a huge relief.
It's not by chance that I'm sharing all that stuff here, because DeviantArt has played a pivotal role in my life
, both in my professional career and my personal life. DeviantArt
made it possible for me to showcase my work effectively and be discoverable, so I can work from home while working with clients from around the world. I met many good friends in DeviantArt
, but I also met my beloved wife, maril1
, 7,5 years ago. So, many thanks for my happy life, DeviantArt
, I owe you a lot!! :happytears:
